What is an LMS?

A Learning Management System is an online software package that enables the management and delivery of learning material to users. LMS systems are usually web-based to facilitate "anytime, anywhere" access for both the learner to complete the course and the care manager or trainer to assess results.

Is information on an LMS secure?

The user’s progress is completely secure, only the learner and the trainer will share a password and therefore have access to the learner’s results. The LMS provides detailed information on the learner’s response to every part of the course as well as their overall score in any final assessment. This means the care manager or trainer has the opportunity to pinpoint exactly what a carer has understood and how their training should continue. In our regulated world it may be necessary to share evidence of course completion with inspectors.

Access and assessment of course at any time and from anywhere

Another major advantage of the LMS is that both the learner and the care manager or trainer can access the course and results any time and from any internet access, all they need is a password. The user can start their course, stop at any time, and continue at their convenience. The care manager or trainer can check, recheck and even cut and paste results from the LMS to other record facilities kept by the care manager.
